Bryan had been throwing a temper tantrum outside of the thicket bramble that protected the garden. HIS garden. [break][break]

"XERNEAS OPEN THE FUCK UP. LET ME IN" his pokemon were unable to teleport inside as usual, he had a hell of a time even tracking this place down. It was meaningless however, no matter how he burned, slashed, froze the bramble, new thickets of it would appear. [break][break]

he sighs, falling to his knees and punching the ground as his frustration reached new peaks. His body was literally going through withdrawls at the moment, typical things he did now felt exhausting. Who knew a side effect was that a familiar face was also going to haunt him soon?

"you, um, had a fight?"

priam had been on the other side of the garden. shouts from the lifebringer was enough to be heard from the vicinity, though it wasn't like it would be required for priam to take notice.

he had been in the area for a while now. his gabite had been acting up, much like how it did back then when the tree had been at the center of the crater city of sootopolis. he'd been trying to figure out why, but to no avail.

"any-"

priam stops himself for a moment, wondering if it's alright to be too familiar. at the end, he decides not to bother much with the status quo between them.

"anything wrong?"

His neck snaps immediately at the sound of a voice in the forest. He recognizes it almost immediately, a wave of relief comes over him before the dread sets in again. [break][break]

His heart sinks.[break][break]

Priam was there, asking him if something was wrong. How he just wanted to collapse into his arms and seek the former comfort he used to have. He hesitates, obviously something was wrong but he didn't know if he wanted to bother Priam with it. But if he was able to find his way here... [break][break]

"It's xerneas." he says as his exhaustion is apparent still on his face, his wounds still bandaged and stained with blood "He wont let me enter my own fuckin garden."

the simple solution comes to mind immediately.

"you're in luck since we have the easy solution right here, right now!"

he grabs his gabite, who is seemingly entranced by xerneas' tree since they arrived. the pokemon seemed dazed, with only one thing in its mind while in the vicinity of the tree.

"remember what happened with gabby before? when sootopolis still had that tree?"

it felt surreal talking to bryan like nothing had transpired between them, but he supposed this is how he was with everyone.

priam just opted to forget about everything, or at least try to. a full reset to clear things up would probably be for the best if they were to continue to work together in the future.

"Yeah I remember." he says as he reminisce on his memories with priam. He missed his warmth, his optimism, his supportiveness. [break][break]

He tilts his head and looks at the pokemon, it did seem to be in some sort of trance like state. [break][break]

"We-We could try, normally I would just bend the plants out of my way or just try to move through them but.." he says as he trails off and realized he said too much already. "For some reason I can't." he decides to tell him, however he knew the truth. [break][break]

He was no longer beloved by xerneas. He was cut off from the addicting light, the one that got him through so many situations. [break][break]

He was no longer more human than human, he was just a human. A weak pitiful creature hopeless without the strength of his pets. "So gabby, think you can get us in?" he asks it

the last time it happened, the gabite hadn't been the one responsible, but the tree, which they now know was a receptacle for xerneas.

the series of events suggest it was more about xerneas wanting assistance from something tainted by its infinity energy-- a creature reborn from the mulch-- but the situation differs now from then.

besides, priam has no idea that the deity was petrified once more.

"that's up to-"

the tree moves, as if inviting the gabite in. likewise, the dragon-type finds itself being beckoned by the tree, not unlike the sensation they felt at the rks simulations.

"huh? looks like it's happening anyways." he turns to bryan. "wanna take this invitation?"

He stays silent, the emotions on his face being unable to be held back. "If it's ok with you." he replies as he was sure it would be. [break][break]

Bryan stands next to gabby as the vines start to move out of the way for the trio. As they move in further the bramble continues to move out of their way and they're allowed to enter the garden of eden he was cast out of. [break][break]

As they entered, the scene shifts and the dark forest transforms into a beautiful garden. Everything was the exact same as he had left it before. The tree had grown slightly and he frowns at it, a reminder of how he was forsaken. [break][break]

"Of course, it's just perfectly happy in here. The slice of heaven I created and I'm not even allowed to go in it by myself. Great." he complains. He shifts his gaze over to priam and gabby. "T-Thank you." he never stuttered

"you're actin' like i won't be doin' this to anyone!" he points out.

his eyes steers away from bryan, concentrating more on the scenery before him. it was unreal despite how familiar he should be with it. he had never gone to any of bryan's private gardens, but he's been in a few of xerneas' spaces.

he is reminded of a meadow from the rks simulation.

"i'm, like, just that generous, y'know. no need for thanks. i'm jus' this great!"

the gabite continues to walk forward, beckoned by a force invisible to them. he figures it couldn't be xerneas, but just like the simulations, the pokemon itself should be attracted to the ivory tree regardless.

"where to now?" he asks.

However when Priam asks him where to go next, Bryan kind of shrugs. "I just wanted to get into my garden to see if I could talk to Xerneas here but..Now that im here.." he says looking to the tree[break][break]

"Seems like he isn't gonna really answer me at all. I don't know what to do next, it feels pointless." he says as he gives up hope and plops to the floor and stares into the sky depressingly. He seemed more expressive again? It was always easier to share his emotions with priam

hands hold the gabite in place, preventing it from moving further.

"why does it feel pointless?" he asks. "endings aren't always pointless!"

priam lies as he breathes. the words that come out of his mouth were never reciprocated by himself, but they leave his tongue nonetheless. he keeps it natural, as always, smiling with the optimism in his eyes.

"they just shift you to a new chapter of your life. you learn from things you never would've learned from, and then you just get better at stuff."

cold grips on his heart, but he continues to talk regardless.

a reminder of bryan's sister flashes, and what had been the lowest point of the rocket beast turned to be a similarly high turning point of his career.

"would you be as strong as you are right now if things went accordingly? i'm not sure if you really enjoy things now, but you're still thriving, right? like a good underdog story if i say so myself!"

"But I guess you're right." he says somewhat lying "Or you jus sayin all dat to make me feel better?" he says as his country bumpkin accent starts to slip out again, he did well to hide it as well as he could but sometimes when he was tired and with Priam he would let is slip.
